Our computer repair Fresno story started waaayyyy back in 2007.
Nerds On Call had already opened two computer repair shops that year, but we weren’t finished. Soon Nerds On Call Computer Repair Fresno will be born!
We had our sights set on offering computer repair to the good people of Fresno, but we didn’t know where to set up shop. We wanted to be sure we could reach the residential neighborhoods that were expanding in Clovis without getting too far from small businesses in the Fresno downtown area.
We scoured Fresno for the perfect place to build our Nerd base of operations.
Eventually, we settled on Shaw Avenue – one of the busiest streets in the town. It would offer us the perfect place to be able to serve the people of Fresno in a place where they already were.
That worked great for many years, but as our business grew, we needed a new store with space for our techs to work. We eventually moved our location to East Champlain – till centrally located so we could continue to service the whole Central Valley region.
While our Nerds go to you – offering in-home and on-site computer and laptop repair service – we wanted to be sure our shop is always convenient to Fresno, Clovis, and Central Valley customers who opt to bring their computers into the shop for service.
With our convenient location (Bonus: you can stop off to visit the ducks at Woodward Park after dropping off your laptop), we can more efficiently service our customers in Clovis and Madera. Win, win!
If you’re a long-time Fresno resident, one of the first introductions to our Nerds in your community may have been our friendly and energetic sign waivers. You may have seen them briefly on Shaw Street, dancing, twirling, and yes, even skating.
As an interesting aside, one of the first customers that Nerds serviced was the head coach of the Fresno State Bull Dogs – co-owner Ryan Eldridge personally went out to his home and worked on his computer. Only the best for the best!
Today, Fresno is the second largest city out of all of our Nerds on Call locations.

Hard to believe that was more than 10 years (and 2 kids!) ago. These days Ryan and Andrea still enjoy visiting the Fresno shop, though they usually have the kiddos in tow and have to squeeze in a visit to the Chaffee Zoo or a performance at the Tower Theater. No hardship there!
