Redding, CA. (April, 2011) – “Mommy, what’s for dinner?” Most of us don’t give this question much of a thought. We pull something from our pantry, or look at what’s defrosted. Many Shasta county families don’t have the luxury of stocked cabinets and freezers. Too many local children go to bed at night with rumbling bellies. The local Salvation Army last spring, “served 1,103 clients, of those, 239 were first time clients” (Salvation Army, June 2010) The number of needy families is expected to grow this year because of the slow economy and high unemployment rates.
NERDS, in an effort to help the community, is offering a $20 gift card, for Nerds On Call services, to customers that drop off canned or dry goods at our store. In addition NERDS will match each donation can for can.

Customers and community members can bring in canned/dry goods or money donations (valued at $5 or more) to our store in the Target Shopping Center @1355 Churn Creek Road in Redding, starting May 1st through June 2nd or can give their donation to their friendly NERD during an appointment. We are open M-F 8 to 8 and Saturday & Sunday 9 to 6. Help feed a family and stuff the Nerd Mobile!
