Redding, CA: September 10, 2010–On August 24, 2010 Inc. magazine announced its fourth annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy— America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Nerds On Call is one of the fastest growing private companies in America for a second year. This year Nerds was ranked 2,495 out of 5,000 companies. Rankings based on revenue figures from 2006 through 2009. NERDS’ growth from 2006 to 2009 was 96%!

Launched a new program called the Home Service Plan. The program created allows customers unlimited access to technicians by phone or online during business hours for a small monthly fee.
Spent more money on marketing and used non-traditional means of advertising for those customers left without their “usual computer guy.” Focused on customer service and employed a new policy where employees have to ask permission from a manager, to say no to a customer. The company mission statement was re-written to mirror the new policy, “To make our customer’s so happy with our service; they have to tell someone else about us.”
Started a customer referral program. If a customer tells a friend about Nerds On Call and that friend has Nerds On Call come out, the company gives the referring customer a $20 gift certificate and the new customer $20 off.
Offered a convenient location in the Target shopping Center where customers can drop off computers at a central location near shopping and other popular errand destinations 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Featuring the NEW “Same Day Service” in by 10 a.m. out by 6 p.m.
With changes made Nerds On Call saw massive growth in existing stores. Nerds On call finished 2009 with a 14% increase in volume. With the resurgence, Nerds On Call now has 13 locations throughout California, Oregon and Washington and employs 65 staff members with the potential for further growth.
