CDs used to be the big thing back in the day. If you had a CD drive, or especially one that could burn them, you were the cat’s meow. Ok, it wasn’t that long ago, but it was pretty cool. Then DVDs came along and it was so impressive that you could burn almost 5 gigabytes of data onto an optical disc. Now we have flash drives that can store ten times that amount. Our current optical disc technology is all about the Blu. Blu-ray discs hold much more data than previous technology and are a great way to transfer data or high-definition video. As time goes on, the current method of using these disks will probably become outdated, but for now you probably have so much data stored on them that it’s impractical to try and move everything onto a different storage medium. Plus, there’s always the off chance that Netflix won’t have that old video you want to see, so you’ll have to head into Fresno to pick it up on DVD (too bad you can’t put a VHS in your computer).
Now, as this technology ages, the devices that support it are eventually going to start to fail. That’s where we come in. Our techs, located right here in Fresno, are more than happy to keep your computer reading all those discs. If your drive fails, we can replace it for you. It’s really too much effort and money to try and repair it – and optical drives are much cheaper than they used to be.
If you have a disc stuck in the CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive that you can’t get out with the old paper-clip-in-the-eject-hole trick, we can dissect your drive and retrieve it without destroying your drive and your data in the process. We’re like hardware surgeons.
