A while back people decided that they needed to be able to attach more devices to their computer. All the flash drives, mice, printers, keyboards, and USB-powered desk foam missile launchers were just taking up more room than the computers were built with. So they invented the USB card. At the time this was a great and logical idea. It would provide a way to plug more devices in. You may have a USB card in your computer right now; however, technology evolves very quickly. What this meant was that shortly after the USB card craze, there came USB hubs, which are a much more efficient way to add USB ports to your computer. They’re replaceable without having to go inside your computer, they’re cheaper and they take less power. USB cards still have their purposes, but unless you’re trying to grill bacon with your computer (http://cache.gizmodo.com/assets/images/4/2011/11/medium_b381212666a053bb039e7c82ab4bf2c4.jpg), you don’t really need to have them anymore. Plus, computers are getting smaller, so any unnecessary parts inside your computer are just literally weighing you down.

Finally, USB cards are prone to problems, as they are getting to be an older technology that modern operating systems don’t support anymore. So what do you do if you have one that’s giving you problems?
