The other day a man came into our Portland office and said that he had a problem with his laptop. We asked him what was wrong and he said we’d better see it. He showed the keyboard to us. It was a disaster. Keys were missing all over the place and some of them were broken. It looked like something heavy had fallen on it. Our tech asked him what had happened. This is the story he told us.
He was minding his own business at home on his laptop when he heard his son crying from the other room. He went to go calm him down and left his laptop on the desk. When he came back from diaper changing, he found his laptop in the same place. However, the keyboard was broken! Keys were missing and some were cracked! There was no sign of a break-in and it didn’t look like anything had fallen on the laptop. He looked around. From the corner of his eye he saw a red blur and a black square drop on the ground. It was a key! He rounded the corner and saw the biggest shock of his life. The wall of his house was completely destroyed. He ran outside and around the corner. The Kool-Aid man was there, stuffing his missing keyboard keys into his mouth!
“Oh yeah?” the man said.
“Oh yeah!” the giant pitcher of sugary drink replied. And then he ran off. But not before leaving a slip of paper behind. On that paper was written two numbers. One was the number for the Portland hardware company and the other was our number.
