online dating

California, (February, 2012) We’ll admit it: NERDS aren’t very romantic at times.  Most love spending time on the computer, going out to dinner and a movie, or just curling up on the couch to play the latest video game, so NERDS have never been very creative in thinking up ideas to “spice things up.”  This Valentine’s Day, we’ve resolved to use tech resources to think outside that Heart shaped candy box.  Here are some places you can go for ideas to put a little fire into your Valentine’s Day.

Date Night:  Check out “The Dating Divas” www.thedatingdivas.com .  Their motto is, “strengthening marriages, one date at a time,” and that’s exactly what they aim to help you do.  Each Monday, the Divas offer a completely planned “date night” suggestion that you can put into action the next weekend.  A tour through the “Date Night” tab revealed ideas that spanned from simple to intricate, and can accommodate just about any budget and energy level.  Throughout the week they post creative, inexpensive and innovative ideas for romance with your partner, from planning family outings to ideas to spice up your more intimate moments.  You’ll find tons of links to blog articles on relationship help, craft projects, birthday and anniversary ideas, gift tips and much, much more.  You can follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, or subscribe to their free “Love Notes” newsletter, which includes free stuff every month.

Write a Romance Novel:  Next, we found a way to write a custom romance novel.  No, really!  Even a NERD can write romance with At Happily Ever Afters www.happily-ever-afters.net you fill in the blanks for the character names you’d like to include in your story, and they do the rest.  There are several free e-books to choose from.  You’ll find inspirational novels, and you choose the direction you’d like the story to go.  We liked the Personalized Romance version, which allowed us to “write” our own Summer Romance Story in seconds.  It was a little cheesy, but that’s what putting the spark back is all about, right?  It’ll make you and your partner smile together.  If you’re looking to ramp it up a notch, check out Your Novel www.yournovel.com where you can be the star in your own personalized romance novel.  From mild to wild, they have tons of categories from “A Cruise Romance” to “African Safari”.  You provide all the details (including such things as hair and eye color, names, town where you live and favorite cologne and they put it together for you in a paperback, hardback or e-book.  Prices range from $20 for an e-book novella to up to $100 for a full-fledged hardback version, plus shipping and handling.  They’re highly customizable, with the ability to add your own photo to the cover and even write entire pages (at additional cost), so you can really make the story about you and your love.

Last Minute Gifts:  Still need a little gift that doesn’t sabotage their diet but still tells that special someone you love them.  Check out the Valentine’s Day “Flash” drive necklace.

Spice it up:  Finally, no Valentine’s tips would be complete without resources to set the mood.  Netflix www.netflix.com offers romantic movies from PG rated “Lady and the Tramp” to racier R rated romances like “No Strings Attached” to help set the mood for your Valentine’s evening.  With Netflix you can start with their FREE one month trial to customizing your membership to your needs for only $7.99 a month, you get unlimited movies & TV episodes instantly over the Internet to your TV or computer. To even receiving DVD’s right to your mailbox.
