Nerds On Call have begun efforts in Redding, CA, and Chico, CA to stuff one of the NERD mobiles full of toys for the less fortunate children in the community. Last year it was estimated that “1,235 Children received toys from the Redding community” (Salvation Army, 2010) and that number is expected to rise this year because of the slow economy and high unemployment rates.

With help from customers and community members we can bring Christmas to those who may otherwise not get one this year. Toys will be donated to the Salvation Army STUFF THE BUS efforts in December. “We’re happy to support the local children for the holiday,” said Vice President, Ryan Eldridge. “We encourage customers to bring new, unwrapped toys to our store to help put a smile on the faces of those most in need during the holiday season.”

NERDS, in an effort to help the community, are offering a $20 gift card for Nerds On Call services to customers that drop a toy off at our store. In addition NERDS will match each donation toy-for-toy.

Customers and community members can bring a new, unwrapped toy (valued at $5 or more) to our store in the Target Shopping Center @1355 Churn Creek Road in Redding, starting November 8th through December 2nd or can give their donation to their friendly NERD during an appointment. We are open M-F 9 to 8 and Saturday & Sunday 9 to 6. Help make a child’s day and stuff the Nerd Mobile!
